Avishag Shaar-Yashuv, 35, is an Israeli photojournalist and documentary photographer.

She has been working in the field for over 16 years. Her work is published regularly in leading digital and print media, both in Israel and internationally.

Avishag is the author of the bestselling book “Asufa.”

For the past 12 years, she has documented a range of ecological communities and initiatives across Israel. The project began with a broad exploration of different communities and drew the attention of leading European publications. It has since been presented in several exhibitions in Israel.

Since October 7, 2023, she has been covering the war in Israel, focusing on both daily developments and the long-term human impact of the conflict.
Her work received the 2024 UNICEF Photo of the Year award.
